The Programs, Projects and people
The BSS provides funding for so many things at Britannia Secondary.
Here is a small sample of what your generosity has supported in the last year.
SPORTS
- We supported the Swim team through the purchase of swim caps for all of the students
- Basketball……
SCIENCE
- Several promoting students were able to attend Stanford University Virtual Summer program focused in Artificial Intelligence.
INDIGENOUS EDUCATION
- All students in grades 10-12 attended a screening of the critically acclaimed film “Beans” by Tracy Deer
WELLNESS EDUCATION
- Funding was provided for a workshop that provided the grade 8 and 9 students with valuable sexual education regarding anatomy, gender identity and consent.
- Grade 10 and 11 students took part in Safeteen workshops.
DIVERSITY and INCLUSION
- The BSS funded the purchase of a pink t-shirt for every student. This ensured that all students were able to participate in a day that celebrates inclusion and highlights anti-bullying.

The BSS Board
We are a group of people committed to supporting Britannia students. We are 3 former administrators and one current one, one retired counsellor and award winning basketball coach, three alumni, one retired socials teacher, one #1 Brit fan, and three brilliant community workers.
Why a BSS Bus?
Equity in public education is something we all believe is important but it can be difficult to find at times. For most Britannia students getting to the big game across the city after school is a challenge. At other schools parents drive, students have cars or a transit pass. Field trips, and workshops are often out of the question.
The BSS bus can safely transport 24 people and one driver. It serves the high school and is available fior use by the elementary feeder schools as well..
